“I bet Jeff Francoeur has reached first base more than you” ROFL

  • http://paviliondeck.com TonyIsDynamic

Hahaha, I love how you broke the 4th wall and made fun of the characters appearances.

    And they ARE retarded-looking…

  • PhillyCuban

watching this > watching the game…especially since I know the outcome from sabermetrics

  • Greenman!

    “I don’t care”

  • ShawnJames

    Chase Utley is hot.

His wife really knows what she’s doing out there…

  • olo567

There’s no debate for this one. Werth isn’t enough to help this team come back, trade him.

  • Shamels Raul Wertiz

Jayson Werth punches babies for sport Im pretty sure. Soo…akward.

  • Lynniemac

    Self-aware Speak ‘n Spell. Nice.

  • Crocks

Hate to be the bearer of bad news:
    these videos aren’t very funny

  • Lynniemac

And I wish Jayson Werth would punch Mandy Housenick in his time off from baseball.

  • http://twitter.com/markmarinelli MJM

I appreciate the effort. Everyone has a different sense of humor. Anyone who is willing to be creative, work hard and put it out there should be thanked. Not saying you have to enjoy it, but at least appreciate the effort.

  • Crocks

Yeah the effort is there. Just my opinion.

  • Phils Phan

Someone broke the comments in the other thread. Someone also broke the Phillies will to fucking win.

  • Shamels Raul Wertiz

So Im guessing all the discussion of homoeroticism and BJ’s on Broad Street will resume in this thread then?

    F’ing par for the course.

  • Greenman!

you have a 1 in 73 chance of being involved in a violent crime in Philadelphia, you have a 1 in 52 chance of being involved in a violent crime in Atlanta. Stats usually go over Atlantians heads though so I’m not sure why I bother.

  • J

I am shocked Jimmy didn’t get hurt on that play earlier. that easily could’ve been a neck injury.. that would be just our luck. Glad he’s okay.

  • Mike P

1 out. Big Piece on 2nd. Werth at the plate. Down by 6. The Phils have got the Cards right where they want them.

  • TonyIsDynamic

Werth has essentially played his way out of Philly.

  • kurt

Shit’s getting fucked. Looks like Werth will be gone by Saturday now?

  • Phils Phan

Dear God, please bring back Myers and his ’89 IROC.

  • bob

    werthless and happ for oswalt

  • Shamels Raul Wertiz

You know now that the game is over Uncle Charlie’s gonna get out his shotgun n’ go put down ‘ol Jamie. Old Yeller style.

I dont even understand why in the hell I cant even get through a post without saying old and Jamie Moyer in the same breath. F’in Wheels has me brainwashed. Did you all know that Moyer is 47 years old. 47 years old…

  • http://biasedopinions-uch.blogspot.com/ Uncle Charlie’s hands

    Greg Dobbs good looking?

  • http://paviliondeck.com TonyIsDynamic

Looks like Werth’s gone in a three way deal.

  • Shamels Raul Wertiz

@ bob: I don’t want to get rid of Happ though… because I want to say I was there when his hair peninsula finally became an island…then a barren sea. A sexy, barren sea*

    *I totally dig it.

  • Greenman!

    What you talkin bout Tony?

  • J

Some trade talk tonight from Buster and Jayson Stark (ESPN):

    # Indications Phillies are working on major deal for starting pitcher & would move Jayson Werth in a companion trade. More to come on espn.com

Follow-up on Phillies tweet: Phillies have talked about lots of starters. But hearing they’ve spent a lot of time exploring an Oswalt deal.

    # Jayson Stark and I hearing a whole lot about the Phillies working hard on a deal for a frontline pitcher. Don’t know for sure, but (more)

Oswalt fits in a lot of ways. They could make the dollars work by moving Jayson Werth’s contract — and they’d have Oswalt for 2011.

Some of the pitchers the Phillies weren’t talking about, as of early Tuesday evening: Ben Sheets, any of the Rays’ pitchers and Dan Haren.

  • J
  • PhillyPhanInChi

I’m going to say that I’m not excited about getting rid of Happ in ANY deal. People complain about having lost Cliff Lee, and I’m just going to throw it out there. Happ is NOT Lee, but he’s going to be damn close as his career moves along. He’s a guy that we SHOULD most definitely keep. I’m hoping It’s Kendrick that got optioned down.

With that said, Halladay, Hamels, Oswalt is for sure a nice little start. Too bad Oswalt gets hurt for at least a quarter of the season every year.

Now, since I know that RAJ reads this blog everynight

GET RID OF BAEZ!!!!!! Please for the love of god and all that is good. Get him the fuck outta there and get Nelson back. Shit man. The guy sucks the hair on Kruks left nut.

  • Greenman!

Well we know they would love to have more Phillies down in Houston so we just gotta hope Oswalt is down with it too. It’s a gamble but I bet he would like the idea of starting with the best fucking pitcher in baseball. Hamels isn’t too shabby either.

  • J

Yeah I really hope Happ is not involved.

And it sounds like this MAY be dependent on whether Oswalt wants to play in Philly.

    Ed Price:
If #Phillies are working on getting Roy Oswalt, sounds to me like they’d have to convince him that he will get them to the playoffs.

Source: #Astros “may be close to putting the ball in [Oswalt's] court” re: #Phillies trade. Oswalt has full no-trade clause.

  • John Matrix

Why move werth? At this point keep sending them out there and wait for the slump to break

  • PhillyPhanInChi

@ John – It’s going to be a 3 team deal so the Ass-strokes can get some prospects. I’m seriously wondering who this 3rd team is that is going to get Werth though….

  • Watrick

Happ left his rehab game early. Only 2 reasons-because Moyer went down, and this is totally a viable reason, or he was involved in a trade.

  • John Matrix

Why would a pitcher want to come to a team that fucks it’s starters on a daily basis. Just ask Cole

  • Bozo

Other thread not loading for anyone else?

I am seriously against trading for Oswalt considering the shot he took off the ankle that caused him to leave the game. Last thing we need is for the Phillies to trade for a guy that has a potential injury. Even if it is just a contusion or whatever it’s a big deal, look at what happened to Polanco with his elbow. Also against trading Happ.

  • Greenman!

@John Matrix, Cole enjoys getting fucked. Maybe Oswalt does too?

  • PhillyPhanInChi

@ John- Well, that, in the end could be the deal breaker. With a full on NTC Oswalt will have the final say. The interesting thing in all this is how confident RAJ was today when approached about it. If Oswalt DKs this whole thing I wouldn’t be surprised if a trade still happened before the weekend with another team.

  • Watrick

I think Oswalt is nearly done with his career, so I’m not all about them signing him, either. Maybe throw Brett Myers in the deal, and I’ll start to get interested.

  • http://twitter.com/freddie_the_k Freddie the K

This video is funny as shit.
    Good work, Chris.

  • PhillyPhanInChi

I’m just sayin’-I’m more against getting rid of Happ than I am about getting Oswalt or giving up Werth.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKpEYMHAaOw Joe Pa

We have to do something because this team is fucking hard to watch when they play like this. In the words of HK, “Clear Stuff!” is what I need!

  • Greenman!

I’m with the general opinion, I want to see more of Happ before trading him away. He has been hurt his whole sophomore season though so there is no guarantee he will be good. It’s kind of a gamble trading him but it might turn out well.

  • J

    # Charlie says Moyer headed to DL, “trainer said it looks like same thing as Happ.”

  • J

    Matt Gelb:
Happ will be rejoining the Phillies, Charlie said.

    !!!!!!

  • Bozo

I thought it was Moyer’s groin again judging by his reaction. Very unfortunate. He got roughed up a couple starts in a row but boy is he a ton of fun to watch when he’s on his game. Get well soon Jamie.

  • Watrick

    MLBTraderumors.com :

10:17pm: Amaro tells Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports that the Phils are “not close” to making a deal, though the team is talking to many other clubs on many fronts (Twitter link). The D’Backs, A’s and Astros all tell Rosenthal that they aren’t close to a deal.

  • Greenman!

incase you guys missed ZWR’s tweet from earlier, this killed me: “omg!!! we left blanton in chicago RT @bigleaguestew Comcast is now showing a fat kid eating a tray of nachos instead of the Cubs game.”

  • Bozo

    Fuck yes @J!

  • PhillyPhanInChi

@ J- I hope this isn’t some sick kind of cock tease. What if the trade is only for Werth? I can’t imagine where the hell he’s going to end up, because it sure as hell won’t be with Astros. It’s got to be Boston, NYY, TB or even San Diego? No matter what, losing Werth is going to suck because now you pretty much have throw Polly down the order for balance and with Victorino swinging like he’s Kevin Stocker from World series baseball for sega back in 96, it’s still gonna F things up.

  • Keegan

If they were gonna get rid of Happ I was gonna shoot someone.

  • Bozo

@Watrick- Rosenthal can be a douche so Amaro was probably like “lulz go way”. Amaro said like 4 times today they know what they are going to do, he’s just not telling anyone.

Amarao is definitely good at keeping quiet, I don’t think any of us expected the Howard extension when it happened.

  • Bozo

If this was earlier in the year and there was discussion of trading Werth I’d be furious, but he’s hitting less than .100 with RISP since May ?th(9th I think it said).

I am however against Francisco becoming the starter, call up Brown or John Mayberry Jr.

  • PhillyPhanInChi

Seriously, if RAJ pulls a fucking rabbit out of a hat on this one and surprises everyone, how fast will the fans be back on his nuts – WIN or LOSE? It’s like fuckin’ Christmas eve in this bitch.

  • Mike P

J.A. Happ shouldn’t be the wall preventing the Phils from getting Oswalt. He hasn’t even been able to get past the fifth inning once this year, in the majors or the minors. He doesn’t project any higher than a 3rd starter on an MLB staff, and most projections suggest that he’s a 4th or 5th starter.

The only untouchables in the Phils minor league system should be Brown, Cosart, and maybe Singleton. Otherwise, I’m completely fine with the Phils trading Werth and Happ OR any number of the Phillies prospects.

  • J

    @Greenman!
LMAOOO i am legit cracking up right now. tweet of the year right there.

    @PhillyPhanInChi
Yankees, Sox, or Rays makes the most sense for Werth. I can see it being the Rays. They were looking for outfield help to begin with and then Crawford got hurt in the game earlier tonight.

  • John Matrix

Bozo, no one else is hitting either. Werth isn’t the cancer ofthe lineup. For what ever reason the team has become pedro feliz

  • Bozo

Saying Happ hasn’t gotten past the 5th inning this year is absolutely 1000000% unfair to Happ. His problem has been because he’s been injured.

  • Bozo

Oh, definitely John. I didn’t mean it like that.

  • J

    Yep I was right.

    MLBTR:
10:44pm: Olney and Stark hear that the Rays are discussing trades for Werth (Twitter link). The Phils are working “very, very aggressively” to move Werth (Twitter link).

  • Greenman!

maybe we can sign Oswalt to a 17 year deal

  • PhillyPhanInChi

Happ will end up being a 3 or a 2. This guy just knows how to pitch. He also has a work ethic that is out of this world (I know a coach at Northwestern where Happ works out in the offseason. This coach has said that there has never been a day that they were there and he wasn’t. In short, the guy wants to be a horse and has the body for it.)

I’ll throw it out there now Mike P and it’s for the whole world to see-If Happ isn’t a consistent 12 game winner with an ERA under 3.80 in 5 years, I’ll fly you you out here for the Cubs Series in 2015 and put you up in the best hotel in the city.

  • Phils Phan

    @ PhillyPhanInChi:

Does that offer include carnal relations?

  • PhillyPhanInChi

I’ll ask my wife if she’s available.

  • will.H

who on earth would we get from the rays? seems they have their rotation/pen sealed tight

  • PhillyPhanInChi

Does anyone have the Crawford injury video? That has to be AWESOME!!!!

  • Mike P

    @Bozo

He’s been saying for the past month that he’s totally healthy. Plus, if his problems are all injury related, why is anybody excited that he’ll be coming back up? Given all of his struggles in the minors, I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets hit around worse than Kendrick.

I don’t think the sabermetrics fanatics are correct about everything, but I think they were right on during the Hamels/Happ debate last year. Happ was extremely lucky, and his strand rate and BABIP are not sustainable. If you’re looking for a 4th pitcher, he’ll fit the bill nicely, but let’s not pretend that a 4th starter should be the straw that breaks the camel’s back of a deal for a bonafide ace in Oswalt.

  • John Matrix

Carnal knowledge – of a lady this time, on the premisis.

  • Eric
  • J

    His injury is on here:
    h ttp://www.mlb.mlb.com/news/article.jsp?ymd=20100720&content_id=12434782&vkey=news_mlb&fext=.jsp&c_id=mlb

  • Eric

@68 – You never close your eyes anymore.

  • Phils Phan

    @ John Matrix:

Clearly you haven’t lost that lovin’ feeling.

  • Mike P

Wow, now that is putting your money where your mouth is!

I don’t have a problem suggesting that he’ll be a 12-game winner. After all, it’s not all that hard to win 12 games in the majors, especially if he sticks around Philly where the offense will, I’m sure, eventually return to life (even if it doesn’t happen until 2011!).

The 3.50 ERA, though? I think that’s a stretch. 4.00-4.50 is more like it. Again, I could see him topping off as a 3, but realistically, we’re talking about a very good 4th starter here.

Roy Oswalt, on the other hand, is an ace. A-C-E. That would give the Phils a mighty three-headed pitching monster at the top of the rotation. J.A. Happ should not be what stops that from happening.

  • Mike P

Oh, I’d offer a return to the bet, but I have no idea where I’ll be living in the next 5 years. Right now, I’m in the Triangle… I’m afraid that the Durham Bulls just don’t have the same drawing power in a bet as Wrigley.

  • Marley

    These Endless Debates are hilarious.

    Get well, Jamie.

  • PhillyPhanInChi

    If there’s beer…..I will show….

  • Bozo

I’m playing RTTS on MLB 10 and I’m in year 2012. The Phillies traded J.A Happ(who was like 9-0 when he got traded) to the Cubs for Dempster. Last I looked Happ was 17-3 with an ERA around 2.20 towards the end of August. I want to punch the game so hard since the rotation consists of an aging Halladay with an ERA close to 4, Hamels with a losing record and a low 3′s ERA, Jeremy Guthrie with an ERA close to 8, and Dempster.

Not saying Happ will be that good in real life, I’ve just been bitching about the game and calling it stupid.

  • PhillyPhanInChi

I just don’t like Oswalt as much as everyone else does. Living out here I get to see him pitch a couple times a year, and dude is nasty. BUT, he is a guaranteed trip to the DL. ALSO, he’s from Mississippi. I had the unfortunate experience of living there for a year. Those people are crazy man. I have no clue if he could handle the difference from pitching for a mid market team that will always be soft on him and then, well. Coming to Philly.

I don’t think this season is a loss in any way. But I also don’t want to look out on the mound in 4 years and see a rotation that has Don Carmen and Shane Rawley and be thinking it’s the Shiz….

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

I would be 100% OK with the Phillies trading Werth to the Braves if it meant they also had to take Danys Baez.

  • Bozo

    Mets lost.

  • Mike P

Hah! I was just thinking about Don Carman and Shane Rawley tonight, when trying to see if I could come up with the 1988 Phils roster off the top of my head tonight. I got Rawley, but totally forgot about Carman.

  • PhillyPhanInChi

don’t forget about the other wrong Brother we had too Mike “Luigi” Maddux. I mean, seriously, just once I’d like to see the Phillies pick the good brother up instead of his genetic leftovers….DiMaggio, Giambi, Maddux…..

  • Mike P

Jesus, I’m practically illiterate tonight. How many “tonight”s can I put in one sentence?

  • Bozo

I have Nickelodeon on TV and Family Matters is on. Urcle and Carl were just singing High Hopes, must be a sign!?

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

I think the Oswalt deal’s the reality. Tampa has 2 of the top 5 prospects in baseball, 1 of those would net you Oswalt. The problem is that I won’t be happy with it simply because it’s Ed Wade, and if you’re going to deal with Ed Wade you need to completely fleece him. I want Oswalt and Myers and a right handed bat, I don’t want Happ to be included in the deal and I want Baez to be on Houston. With Ed Wade, this can be done.

I am fully aware that if Danys Baez leaves, he will become the next guy to absolutely kill the Phillies every time he sees them

  • PhillyPhanInChi

@ Bozo – You any good at The Show?

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

    Actually, here’s my dream trade:

Werth/Happ to the Rays for a top prospect and BJ Upton. Top prospect to Houston for Oswalt.

Upton starts in Right Field. He doesn’t hustle on a play and Danys Baez calls him on it. Upton kills Baez. Dom Brown called up. Upton in jail with Ugeth Urbina. Baez dead.

    Win-Win

  • Bozo

I’m like 50 games over .500 online on Veteran.

  • Bozo

I still have a problem with Oswalt unless they know for sure he is 110% healthy after leaving the game earlier this week.

  • PhillyPhanInChi

I suck online. I can’t quite figure out the whole lag thing. It’s definitely not my connection either. I’ve just always had an issue with that whole almost but not quite perfect connection. I’m on on the weekends when the wife is asleep (best thing about working an opposite schedule). 50 over. Damn. I actually think The Show is the best sports game out there since madden in the late 90s and early 2ks

  • Mike P

For what it’s worth, Oswalt insists he’s going to make his next start on Saturday.

  • jcole

    this is fucking great.

  • Eric

    Anybody wanna play Fifa online?

  • Bozo

David Murphy saying on his blog that Happ looked good in his start. He didn’t walk anyone and his fastball was around 92-93.

  • Eric

I’m reporting from my couch that the Phillies looked like shit again tonight.

  • Mike P

    @ Bozo

In 3 IP. He didn’t even face the entire lineup twice. If I were the Phils, I’d want to see him throw 8 IP, at 100+ pitches, with 3 ER (preferably less) before calling him up. Of course, the Moyer injury complicates things here.

I’m not saying that this showing isn’t positive. I’m just saying that it’s hard to draw the conclusion that he’s ready when they pull him after 3 IP. Based on this rehab, I’m not very optimistic that he’s going to be half as effective as he was last year. Here’s hoping he proves me wrong!

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

Mike P, it wasn’t a case of the Phillies going “Well, we got what we needed from Happ,” it was a necessity once Moyer left the game to make sure that Happ is ready to go on Sunday. OR, he’s traded and the other team expects him to be ready to go.

  • PhillyPhanInChi

Is Fifa any good? I need a new game to get into. I only play NBA 2K, Madden and The Show….

  • Greenman!

you on Xbox or PS3 eric?

  • Mike P

    @Scott

Why wouldn’t Happ be ready on Sunday if he pitched a full game today? On Sunday he would be pitching on regular rest. I halfway wonder if they are planning on pitching him on Saturday if a trade doesn’t go through. It doesn’t seem wise to pitch a guy who has had arm problems all year on short rest, even if he only threw 40some pitches today, but you never know.

  • PhillyPhanInChi

@ Mike – I concur about the short rest thing. Kendrick hasn’t had arm problems but they threw him in for garbage time against the Cubs and I’m sure it screwed him up. I’m still convinced that they threw him in there because they already knew he was going down and that whatever trade they thought was going to happen fell through.

  • Mike P

    @Chi

Yeah, I was totally pissed about the Kendrick relief appearance. It was complete bull shit. I wish I knew what the hell Cholly was thinking there.

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

Mike, in theory he would have been on pace if he went 8 innings. The logic, though, is that you don’t want him hurt. Moyer goes down, but then what happens if Happ goes and blows his arm out in the 4th inning of a AAA game? You make sure he’s healthy.

  • Eric

    playstation 3

  • Joe Blanton

Seriously, fuck Jason Werth, fuck Drew Carpenter, fuck Ruben Amaro, fuck Charlie, fuck that second base bag that got Utley’s thumb injured, fuck me because a. I’m fat, and b. I pitch decent until I get hungry then pitch like the second coming of Adam Eaton/Turk Wendell, which happens once every fucking game I start, fuck Travis Lee because somehow this is his fault, fuck the Braves because they don’t stand a chance against any team in the AL, let alone the Cards, fuck Jamie Moyer for being old and somehow duping us into paying him, fuck the whole team for sucking every time Chris puts up a game thread, fuck Carlos Beltran just because, and fuck Pat Gilick for leaving us with RAJ.

    yours truly,

    Joe Blanton

  • Greenman!

ah I will have fifa for my ps3 soon.

    Love you Joe.

  • Braves2010NLChampions

Hahahahahahaah I love that you’re all miserable

  • Greenman!

I’m pretty happy asshole, go answer some phones for the cable company now k?

  • Phils Phan

I’m not miserable. In fact, I’m giddy.

The fact that you post on here between now and 4 a.m. (i.e., yesterday) means that you work a menial job with non-standard hours. You’re likely miserable with your lot, as if you could, you would return to your roots. But you’re neither intelligent enough to do so nor does your specialty give you that ability. Accordingly, you languish in the greater Philadelphia area, sitting in your small apartment, loathing work and probably life in general, and the only joy you get is through the Braves.

That, my friend, makes me happy.

  • Adamr14

    I think Joe Blantons drunk

  • Braves2010NLChamps

Actually I love my job. My hours are 9-5 but I usually can’t sleep. The only thing that sucks about my job is that I’m stuck in this shit hole BUT before the end of the year I’ll be back in the ATL or in NYC. I have a girlfriend (Jersey girl not ugly fat Philly trash) and I’ve made some great friends up here who are Phillie’s fans unfortunatley . My apartment is small but it’s all I need & yes the Braves make me happy. Especially after sweeping the Phillies at Turner and then taking 2 of 3 from them at their own ballpark and pretty much clinching the division in July. Those assumptions you made were hilarious.

My friends who are Phillie’s fans are pretty much ready to jump off the Betsy Ross bridge and by reading comments on here and some on twitter I can’t help but be happy that you’re all miserable.

You want the Phillies to be 1st in the NL East but they arent and the Braves are.
You want them to be the best team in the NL but they aren’t the Braves are.
The Phillies are THREE games above .500 LOL.
The Braves are SEVENTEEN games above .500.

Everything is going their way. They’re dominating and Phillies fans are miserable. :)

  • Braves2010NLChamps

@lenno212: Cora not happy w/ clubhouse laughter after another #Mets loss. Yells out, “A little respect please. They stuck it up our —!”

Damn the Mets are miserable too.Hahahahahahaahahaaaaaahahahah :)

  • Phils Phan

Still not miserable, as I know you’re full of shit. It much be tough working the evening shift at Wawa, no?

  • Braves2010NLChamps

I have no reason to be miserable and fuck that. I’d rather be a Phillie,Cub,or a Mets fan then work at Wawa.

  • Phils Phan

If you ever need a shoulder to cry on, look me up here. We’ll talk through it.

  • Braves2010NLChamps

Alright dude cause I know you must be upset about the Phillie’s season ending so quickly. Don’t worry though. Spring training starts in about 7 months.

Just wondering if the Phillies should expect a nice warm welcome home from the fans on Friday? I might just go with my friends (wearing a Prado jersey) to join in. I bet CBP will be half full though.LMAO.

  • Phils Phan

Not upset at all. Baseball is a pastime. It’s entertainment. I prefer they win; I sleep tightly if they lose. There are many things in life in which one becomes emotionally invested. Sports, I think, shouldn’t be one of them. Sure, the Phils could be doing better this season. But because they’re not, I’m not losing any salary, my family isn’t becoming ill, and so on.

By the way, it’s Phillies’, not Phillie’s. I know grammar is not a prerequisite to scanning my cups of cheese cubes and pepperoni, but you should work on it.

And finally, if you’re wearing your Prado jersey, I also suspect you’ll be wearing your mitt. Nothing says “I’ve made it!” more than a grown man at a baseball game in a jersey and wearing a mitt. You’re so cute.

  • Greenman!

He just gets mad he couldn’t afford an apartment in fishtown so he decided to live in Jersey instead.

  • Greenman!

and don’t try to give me that nice area of Jersey bull shit, they don’t let southerners in there.

  • PhillyPhanInChi

I love it! I also love that Braveswhateveritis has to validate all this stuff to everyone on the board.

Hey everybody, I love the braves, oooooohhhhh, I live in Jersey and have a GUUUrllllFrieeeend.

Even if CBP is half full next year, we’ll have more fans than ATL.

I work non-standard hours. But that’s Asia and Europe’s fault. Not mine. Bastards.

  • Braves2010NLChampions

WTF is Fishtown? I consider Cherry Hill a nice area…I don’t know about you.
I wasn’t trying to validate anything. Just stating facts.
Philly fan in Chicago? Did you go to the games this week? Didn’t watch but according to my friends they were miserable (what else is new?)

  • PhillyPhanInChi

Yes, as a matter o facto, I did go to a game. I went to the Halladay drubbing. But guess what? My involvement as a fan is purely for my own enjoyment. If they lose, life sucks, for like, never. If they win, then I may have an extra beer or two. My only real involvement with the team is when i pay for Phillies merchandise or get the chance to go a game out at CBP. Either way, I’ll never have a true say, so to get upset over it is a waste of time.

This doesn’t mean that I’m not rooting for them. I want them to win because I had a blast at that parade I flew out for a couple years back.

A parade. Sure sounds nice, huh. You guys win the WS, I’ll fly down to ATL and wear a David Justice jersey. The only way you get people to show up to a Braves WS parade is to say Freeknik is back ON!!!

What are the readers gut feelings towards when this trade will be finalized? Will Moyer going down last night delay this process? I’m excited for a shakeup because, at this point, it’s definitive that it needs to happen. Maybe Charlie should announce he’s going to retire at the end of the season too, lol.

  • Lynniemac

A Braves’ fan making comments about CBP potentially being only half full. Irony is awesome.

    @Scott

If he’s going to blow out his arm in the 4th inning of an appearance at AAA, he’s going to blow it out during his first outing in Philly. You mightaswell know if it’s going to fall off before he gets back to the show. Sure, there could be some sort of freak accident that leads to injury, but at a certain point, if you’re worried about that, why pitch him for 3 innings at all? A 3 IP appearance doesn’t tell the organization anything it didn’t know before, and it risks further injury. My point is that if you’re going to pitch him for 3 innings, you mightaswell give him a full appearance and see what he’s got, because he still hasn’t demonstrated the ability to get through 6 or 7 innings.

Did anybody catch the Atlanta trolls laughing at the Phils’ 2 WS titles the other day? It’s funny because the Braves have only won 1 title in Atlanta, despite years of so-called dominance, and I seriously doubt their relatives were rooting for the Braves when the won in Boston or Milwaukee.

  • http://asstoass.org crazy4swayze

perhaps this was already discussed but according to buster on mike & mike this morning the phils are working on oswalt for non-domo prospects and werth to tampa bay (also for prospects).

so we’ll probably end up with ben sheets and the A’s 4th outfielder.

  • Braves2010NLChampions

Fuck Buster. I don’t trust a thing that dude says.

    Braves2010NLChampions with a slipup there?

This might have been covered somewhere, and I’m sorry if it has, but, how do you make these? They’re brilliant!

  • http://www.cranktexts.com Adam Eaton

Hold on… Is there a chance we can still work something out for Cliff Lee?

  • will.H

so basically the A’s would take another crack at a more athletic version of Matt Holliday

  • will.H

and the phillies outfield will be filled with 4th outfielders.

  • Braves2010NLChampions

Guys, I’m really sorry about being such a douchebag on this site and in real life. Sorry again. Go Phillies!
