Jimmy Rollins is hounded by autograph seekers at a pizza joint

Here’s some high-quality phone camera footage of our injured superstar, Jimmy Rollins, getting bombarded with autograph requests while he waits for his food order at Ciconte’s Pizzeria in Glassboro, NJ. And like the personable fan-favorite that he is, Jimmy doesn’t seem annoyed in the least as he grants everyone’s request for a signature.

    Class act. One of my favorite Phillies of all-time. Great face for the organization. I can’t wait to have his swagger back at the top of the order and that silky smooth glove back at short. He can throw better with his right leg than Valdez can with his right arm.

    But please, Jimmy, don’t hang around Glassboro too often. I don’t want anything bad to happen to you.

    i’ve seen him at that wawa too. sometimes i sneak up behind him while he’s ordering a meatball classic at the touch screen and i add bacon for an additional $0.60. we share a laugh, he eats a gigantic meatball sammich with bacon…everyone wins.

    I don’t know if I’d have the gall to bug a Phillie for an autograph while they’re trying to eat or whatever. Seems like something best reserved for the ballpark prior to the game. Good on him for being such a nice guy though.

    It’s funny…I came to Jimmy one time with the idea to open up a pizza place or some kinda sandwich shop where we could use his public marquee to garner business and such. I could do the Phanatic thing and he’d be the local superstar.
    The gig would work this way; He’d sit at a table that was in full view of take out customers and get noticed real nice like and the word would get out that JRoll is a regular patron there and bam, here comes the business. He seemed pretty cool with the idea but was always puttin’ it off…it’s funny ’cause that was my idea and now there it is on Youtube and why didn’t i know about this until now?..and..uh…um..

    Jimmy hasn’t been returning my calls for some reason. I wonder why that could be…

    I once met Jimmy outside a bar on the 4th of July. He was a lil put off because my friend was all jacked up. But he turned out to be a nice guy.

    I ran into Jimmy at Triada a few years back, I think it was his birthday party. solid guy, took pictures with everyone bullshitted for a few minutes and went on our way. McNabb was there too, he’s was a fucking pretentious dick, I’m glad he’s outta town.

    Victorino signed a bunch of stuff at that sixers game and was pretty cool about it. He signs stuff every single day. Why would anyone go up to a person that is eating and ask for an autograph, photo, or attempt to shake hands?

    Also – that pizza joint looks pretty clean. I like mine dirty with handwritten signs

    I don’t believe you Jeltz. And Jimmy wasn’t eating, he was waiting. I’m with you though, I wouldn’t have bothered him if he was eating though. I would just sit across from him and stare at him while he ate and then as soon as he swallowed his last bite I’d dry hump him.

    Jimmie Collins is a stand-up fella. I remember he was still just a young gun rookie. Got him sign a hotcake, and you can bet that I framed it right on up and put it on the wall of Johnny Hotcakes’. That ain’t an honor enjoyed by many. Mainly ’cause not too many people wanna sign a hotcake, which is a sentiment I don’t agree with but still respect. So far, the only to have signed one are: Jim-E Rollens, Jon Eclaire, John DorenBose, Mickey Leeberthal, and Glen “The Hurricane Man” Schwartz.

    How do we even know that’s really Jimmy? It could just be fan faked. All you get is the side of this dudes face and a really far shot when he faces the camera (could be any black dude that looks vaguely like Jimmy) when it zooms in you still only see the side of his face, when he turns to face the camera while its zoomed it gets all dark so it’s still hard to tell for sure. Plus Jimmy is supposed to be in Clearwater.

    Reuben Amaro Jr. came into my Best Buy today, purchasing some software for his Apple MacBook Pro. I unfortunately wasn’t around to meet him, however he did agree to sign autographs for our employees, and also let people see his ring, and even try it on. Sounds like a real classy guy, shame I didn’t get to meet him.

    Anyone remember a Comcast interview from like 98 or 99 where they had like 3 Phillies prospects all sitting in the studio? One was kinda arrogant and cocky. I remember thinking that fucker was going to make it. I guess I was right. He can infuriate you at times, but he might be my favorite Phillie ever.
