Wooooo! Well worth the 20 or so hours spent voting! Alright… Now Imma go get some sleep. Peace out Folks.

  6. Hummer says:

    FUCK. YEAH.

SUCK ON THAT FAKE TIM LINCECUM (http://twitter.com/TimLincecum) THAT CALLED ME A JERK FOR MAKING POTENTIALLY FALSE CLAIMS ABOUT PABLO SANDOVAL LAST NIGHT ON TWITTER!!!! SUCK ON THAT!!

im sorry for the caps lock, i felt it necessary for this situation

  7. Sarge says:

Enough with this Gran Torino. This win calls for the Cadillac.

  8. PhiPhan5648 says:

P.S. Thanks to any Detroit’ers that bought into Bran-Torino! Mutual voting was nice.

    no questions asked.

  11. Chris says:

I feel like all of Philly should get together and throw back a beer for this one.

  12. alex says:

and God saw that it was good…..

  13. PhiPhan5648 says:

@Chris, seriously. Anyone else going to the CBP Heist on Saturday?

  14. meech.one says:

Me and Dash are in, PhiPhan.

  15. PhiPhan5648 says:

@meech, sweetness. Looking forward to seeing ya guys there. I’ll be the 6’8 guy.

  16. BigMiles says:

Apparently we just signed Pedro Fucking Martinez. All of our collective highs from our voting victory have now been crushed. I’m at work…someone please come drive me home so I don’t drive off of the road on the way home.

Phillies + Choke artist Pedro – Halladay = Mets circa 2007-2009

  17. PhiPhan5648 says:

@BigMils. Ugh… I really hope that isn’t true, cause that would ruin a really good day.

  18. @BigMiles

    Please, fucking no!!!!!!!!!

And I would like to give myself the credit I deserve for contributing TWO total votes for No Questions Asked.

  19. BigMiles says:

I heard it on PhilliesNation and apparently they are reporting it on Daily News Live and WIP. Zolecki hasn’t confirmed it because Amaro has offered no comment as of yet.

  20. PhiPhan5648 says:

    **Claps for HDYSR**

Really were the deciding factor there Tard. LOL!

  21. Gonzo says:

What’s this heist you guys are talking aboot?

  22. PhiPhan5648 says:

The Phils have not signed Pedro.

Via David Murphy, in an interview with Amaro.

  23. alex says:

dudes chill out, this could make room for the phils to get halladay, the jays want happ and now we can give it to them knowing that maybe martiniez is back, we’ll get halladay and an iffy Pedro, id be ok with that

  24. PhiPhan5648 says:

    @Gonzo, its a git-together of 700level/Fightins/Walk-off-Walk bloggers/posters at CBP. It’s on saturday.

  25. Chris says:

Amaro said they haven’t signed Pedro but when asked if there is a pending physical for him he responded “No comment.” Pedro still stinks of Met and I want nothing to do with him.

  26. Sean C says:

Amaro just basically told everyone that he has been signed pedro by not answering the questions. ughhhh

  27. PhiPhan5648 says:

@alex, if we sign Pedro, we aren’t trading for Halladay.

  28. PhiPhan5648 says:

@Chris seriously. The last thing I want in my already struggling rotation, is a washed-up Met.

  29. Hummer says:

well my evening just went to hell upon learning that…

  30. alex says:

    @ phipan y not?

  31. Gaze says:

I disagree PhilPhan… The Pedro signing ONLY makes sense if Happ is as good as gone. Otherwise another 4/5 is the last thing we need right now. I can’t possibly imagine a scenario where this is our big pitching splash.

  32. meech.one says:

Beerleaguer has a great take on why signing Pedro actually improves our chances of getting Halladay.

I don’t know why everyone is getting their panties in a bunch over Pedro. I’d rather have five innings from him then Lopez/Bastardo/Park/Whoever any day.

  33. alex says:

    @gaze

    agreed agreed

  34. billy says:

Pedro ONLY makes sense if we get Doc… IMO

  35. PhiPhan5648 says:

@Gaze and alex. I should of said, I feel like we won’t trade for Halladay. I just don’t see Amaro making a huge splash by signing Pedro, and then Trading for Halladay. Those are two huge moves. At this point, I think you either trade some Pharm guys for Halladay, or you stick with what you got.

I really don’t want to part with Happ. Not in the slightest.

  36. james says:

like the beerleagur post, hopefully for our sake we get him

  37. alex says:

@ phiphan y??? he’s the fourth starter on our team with one sneaky pitch, the fast ball, i would do anything to get halladay and maybe martinez is a blessing in disguise

  38. D. Whitmore says:

DO NOT INCLUDE DRABEK IN ANY DEAL

    signed,
    J.D. Durbin and Mike Zagurski

  39. Dylan says:

    they better not trade taylor

  40. PhiPhan5648 says:

@alex, I’d move Happ for Halladay, but only if there is very little lost in the Pharm. I don’t think Pedro is a blessing anyway, shape or form.

  41. PhiPhan5648 says:

I issue with Halladay is, how long will he stay a Phillie? His contract is up in a year, and he’ll be looking for a retirement contract with a big paying team, like the BoSox or Yankees. If we trade Happ, whom could be an Ace someday, and has show some amazing ability up to this point, and our Pharm, then two years from now our Rotation is what?

    Hypothetically:

Halladay signs a big contract somewhere else.
Happ was traded to Toronto for Halladay.
    Drabek is in Toronto.
    Moyer is retired.
    Blanton is released.
    No more Myers.

    Where does that leave us?

Hamels, Savery, and Carrasco? With what else? That to me likes like a disastrous team.

  42. Gaze says:

Thats a good point, PhilPhan, but with a full no trade clause, chances are Halladay wouldn’t even agree to a trade unless it tacked on a few more years with some pretty heavy coin at the end.

  43. PhiPhan5648 says:

@Gaze, I think he would waive the No-Trade for a chance to win a Series. The Phils are a contender, the Jays really aren’t. Halladay has to have two goals left in his career. Win a Ring, and Retire Rich.

  44. alex says:

no proplem giving him the coin in my book, but ur right philphan, i really dont want to give up the farm for him to come pitch…… if there was someway we could keep drabeck and give em happ……. Hamels savery and carrasco dont sound too bad to be but with drabeck, wow that would be amazin….. but i donno

  45. PhiPhan5648 says:

@alex, its a tough situation. That much is certian.

  46. alex says:

    @phiphan

    agreed philphan agreed

  47. Amanda says:

Pregame interview NQA tally so far- 2.

  48. dUb-iLL says:

NQA x 2 during that pre-game interview… Shane is the man, Fa Real!

  49. kb says:

    NO QUESTIONS ASKED….NONE

  50. 85 says:

That was a great interview, no questions asked.

  51. mplant says:

T-Mac and Wheels lobbed Vic two softballs and he hit ‘em both out of the park. Almost liked they asked those questions on purpose so Vic would say his quote of quotes

  52. Gaze says:

Drabek has as good of a shot at being the next Gabon floyd as he does the next cole hamels. A pitcher like halladay doesn’t end up on our radar often enough to be greedy about prospects

  53. PhiPhan5648 says:

@Gaze, but how much of the Future are you willing to sacrifice right now? For something that doesn’t exactly guarentee another World Series win. Sure it helps our chances, but I’d like the Phils to be contenders for a while, not a flash in the pan team.

  54. Gaze says:

Well the position prospects are pretty much blocked for the near future and we have a plethora of high rated pitchers. I’d keep the highly touted low level guys over the near major league ready ones. Brown and knapp are more important to me than drabek and taylor.

  55. PhiPhan5648 says:

@Gaze, I’m not sure sure I would give up Drabek and Taylor for Halladay if I also had to lose Happ. I think thats selling the Pharm for less than its worth. Keep in mind, Raul Ibanez might be great right now, but he is up there in years. I don’t think he’ll last beyond two years of his contract as a starter, so we’re going to need Taylor at some point.

The same can be said for Moyer. He’s about ready to be retired now, so if you lose Drabek for Halladay, and also Happ. Then you really put the Phils in a bind for the 2011-Beyond Seasons.

  56. gm-carson says:

Don’t ever curse the Freak Tim Lincecum again, dude is awesome!

  57. Gaze says:

First of all… I thought you were taking a nap? Haha

Second, I think brown will be ready by the time raul is done and knapp, savery, and carrasco can fill the pitching voids left by blanton and moyer. But most importantly is the way halladay saves your bullpen from overwork.

  58. PhiPhan5648 says:

@Gaze, I was going to, but then I remembered the game was on.

Good point on Halladay saving the Bullpen, that is definitely important with the Starters we have right now. They do enjoy throuw a Hundred Pitches by the sixth inning alot. How is Knapp by the way, I’ve not read much about him?

  59. Chris says:

@PhiPhan5648 I live close to the Lakewood park and I went to see him pitch, he is flat out nasty. He made the hitters, albeit singla A hitters, look completely foolish. Many are hoping he stays a starter but he might be groomed as Lidge’s replacement.

  60. PhiPhan5648 says:

@Chris, sounds decent. Though I’d have to see him in AA Reading, and then AAA Lehigh to feel confident in him as an heir apparent to Lidge, or in the Rotation. But it good to hear that we have even more depth than I thought.

  61. Gaze says:

Knapp has the makeup of a good starter but the raw domination of a closer… Read onto it what you Will.

  62. PhiPhan5648 says:

@Gaze, I’ll have to try and find some tape of the kid somewhere. I’ll be the first to admit that I don’t follow the Single A ballclubs very much. Maybe I should start.

  63. bigmyc says:

This is the most actual baseball talk that I have ever read on this website.

  64. PhiPhan5648 says:

@bigmyc, it’s nice to have them every once and a while.

  65. alex says:

yeah its a good break from the stupidity found in different people on a daily baises

  66. PhiPhan5648 says:

    @alex. Agreed! Very much so!
