Looking at the Phillies’ record this year, I thought he mastered blowing.

  • http://www.cranktexts.com Adam Eaton

“You know, like that bubblegum, that’s not old school… that’s good school”

  • Amandah

I, on the other hand, have mastered the art of blowing a black man.

    Regards,

    Amandah

  • will.H

“stay classy” will go out of style in the year 2008

  • James Fayleez

He sucks at it, but at the same time, he’s not that good.

  • bigmyc

    Really, will H.? Seriously?

Which will also expire around early 2009…thankfully.

  • steve

    CLASSIC CHOLLY

  • George Steinbrenner

I could do better than that, and I’m dead.

  • Jordan

what a dumbass!! he can’t even chew bubblegum. FIRE HIS FAT ASS RIGHT NOW. i’m sick of the phillies losing. and roy halladay sucks too. best pitcher in baseball my ass. he thinks he’s so fucking great, calling himself ‘doc’. he thought he would just walk into the NL and dominate. well guess what asshole? you better wake the fuck up and start pitching! you’re not on the blue jays anymore. 4TH PLACE ISN’T GOOD ENOUGH! if they traded halladay tomorrow, it would make my day. i won’t miss ‘doc’, that fat fuck nutri slim manager, or the douche bag caveman in rightfield. GET RID OF ALL THEM! and when are we going to call up domino brown and jonathan singleton?!?!?!?!

  • Crocks

    Hey Jordan,
The KC Royals can always use some fans. Go root for them!

  • Esther

    @Jordan

    Domino Brown? Whodat? Lawl.

  • Mike

Did Dominic Brown change his name to Domino? Is he being sponsored by that brown sugar?!? Geez the kids amazing already!!

  • Jordan

at least the KC royals have some talent! trade halladay and werth for zack greinke, eric hosmer and mike moustakas!!

  • will.H

clearly jordan is another commenter just trying to make people mad. No one over the age of 17 talks (types) like that.

  • Greenman!

LMAO can his new nick name be Domino Brown? Blacksploitation!

  • Esther

I vote for Domino Brown being his new nickname, cause he sweet like broooooowwwwwn shugah.

  • Crocks

Did anyone happen to catch Soriano slapping his teammate in the balls on his way out of the dugout? I think it was after the inning he hit his HR…

  • Mike

Not that I’m on Jordan’s side, but I just came up with about 15 nicknames for Mike Moustakas too …

  • Jordan

dominic, domonic, demonick, darron, damon, domino……who fucking cares? i’ll start calling him by his real name when he’s playing on the phillies. until then he’s a no name AAA player.

  • http://www.thefightins.com meech.one

    “DOMINO, MUTHERFUCKER!”

    -Dough Boy

  • http://twitter.com/j_tee_r Jdashdog

If D. Brown gets a few consecutive hits would that be a Domino Rally?

  • Esther

I like you, Greenman. You think like a pro.

  • 85

I was bummed about the Phils today, so I went back and looked through all my photos from Games 4 and 5 from ’08 and the parade. Not that it has anything to do with anything, but I highly recommend it. It feels like ages ago but damn it, it still gives me goosebumps.

  • BJ

This Domino Brown Sugar has so much potential…I smell Domino Sugar promotion nights at CBP, his at-bat song being “Brown Sugar” by the Stones…if only Bocock was a regular on the big squad…free dildos for all!

  • http://www.thefightins.com Chris

The Phillies lost when I *didn’t* make a game thread. Can I do them on a regular basis now?

  • TonyIsDynamic

No, because they still scored 6 runs.

Run AVG when you make a thread is 0.01.

  • will.H

Chris no matter what people say, your game threads don’t determine the outcome of a baseball game 1200 miles away.

  • Ron Mexico

I don’t know what y’all be hollerin at but when thems Phillas lost ’cause Doc be blown up in that inning, I kicked my dog. Hard.

  • bigmyc

Gee, Mr. Mexico, that sounds like something Mike Vick would do…hey..

  • Grundle

Keep making them Chris. When they go on a 1,000,000 game winning streak and win the Superbowl all the luck would have came from your game threads.

  • Jimmy Rollins

    Jordan is a frontrunner.

  • lance parish

@ adam eaton your a fag knee grow

  • lance parish

eaton sucks taint. Mannywood’s taint. Yer gay

  • Heather

So now we have established Charlie Manuel cannot sit down and chew gum, let alone walk and chew gum.

  • steve

We should trade Jordan to Afghanistan.

  • http://twitter.com/MPenn35 Matt

Totally off topic here, but can someone help me out with the order of the Iron Pigs rotation? I can’t seem to find it. The Pigs are here in Indy this week and I was trying to figure out their starters so I could determine what games I was going to go to.

And also, Jordan is a fucking dumbass.

  • don

I don’t think the Pigs rotation has any bona fide prospect starters. Most of the Phillies prospect pitchers are in A ball.

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

I want the trade deadline to end, the stupid rumors are just annoyinh at this point. I just heard Ibanez+Cash to Seattle for prospects to give to Texas for Lee.

While we’re at it we should throw in Werth for Ichiro and then a Dobbs/Baez/Blanton package to Houston for Oswalt.

  • http://twitter.com/MPenn35 Matt

Yeah, but Happ is still starting for them right? I was just gonna try to time it so I’d see him once. I mean, the main reason I’m going is to see Dom Brown, but if I can see Happ too, it’s a bonus.

  • mich

Funny you mention ’cause apparently, the team has yet to master the art of providing offense to Halladay and Hamels as well.

There just has to be a hex on this season. There’s gotta be a reason why all this talent is just not performing. Halladay isn’t looking much like the best pitcher in baseball and Werth….well, I just don’t know what to say about him. Guess he’s just feeling the pressure of an impending trade??

Maybe Ruben has something magical up his sleeve? Maybe they all got in the hot tub time machine and went back to 1979???

  • will.H

what does Cliff Lee have to do to stay on a team for more than 3 months? Something is wrong. There’s more to this story.

  • http://paviliondeck.com TonyIsDynamic

Halladay *WAS* looking like the best pitcher in baseball.

Coming into last night, he was third in the majors in ERA at 2.19.

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

Also, I’m thinking Utley got injured due to karma from the amount of children born in the Philadelphia area with the name “Chase.” I know at least 4 people who recently had kids with the name Chase, and all of them are bandwagon fans who jumped on in 08. I feel that when I have a kid, I need to play the “I’ve been a fan longer” card and name him Travis Lee.

  • greenman!

I probably shouldn’t mention I plan on naming my kid Domino Brown…

  • George Steinbrenner

    I named my penis Babe.

  • http://deleted mich

    Naming my kid Bake McBride

  • Lynniemac

ScottGraham, you’re an amateur. I’m naming my kid “Dickie Thon”.

  • Michael Vick

One a y’all better come over here and get ya dawg off ma lawn.

    Bring a wheelbarrow. He’s about a 100 lbs.

  • will.H

Richard Thon McLynnie is a fine name

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

If the Phillies win the world series this year, I will honestly name my kid Danys. No joke.

  • http://www.cranktexts.com Adam Eaton

@lance parish YOU’RE BACK! THIS IS GREAT! You even got a new name so that way you could post. Good for you. I can’t wait to see where this one goes!

  • Phan Stuck in nyc

Careful Scott. I saw Enrique Iglesias on some morning show (this is what happens when you don’t have a radio & all you want is the weather). They were reminding him that he said if Spain won the World Cup he’d water ski naked in Biscayne Bay. And oooh – NOW, he takes it back. He was all kinds of sorry he’d ever said it.

  • Lynniemac

Okay, if nothing else, I have now decided that “McLynnie” will be part of my hypothetical child’s name. Though I would probably spell it “MacLynnie”.

  • Nick

Phils – 2010 World Champions of 3rd Place in the NL East.

    Be proud my friends.

  • Nick

    I mean come on.

Can any of you name a 2010 NL East team in 3rd place that is better than the Phillies? NOPE.

  • Phan Stuck in nyc

Lynnie: Hm, old world Scots? Nice. The only glitch could be if you have a girl.

  • Greg

You know one of my favorite news articles? When the Mets clinched the 2007 National League East Pennant:

    http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/mets/item_QIBlTY56YbKSaqSTNbFY1I

  • Phan Stuck in nyc

Lynnie: …. or GIRLS, as in several in a row. Hm.

  • will.H

    does Vagina Thon work?

  • Phan Stuck in nyc

    How about simple GINA? Sheesh.

  • will.H

so at her tball games you can yell in spanish, va gina va, or go gina go

  • Phan Stuck in nyc

Greg has a favorite “news” article that was in the NY POST?! Wow. News. You sure? The mind reels. I promise you guys, Greg didn’t complete 8th grade.

  • Phan Stuck in nyc

will.H: And her plate music will be something by Carlos Santana or Los Lonely Boys? Ay yi yi.

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

Phan, I’m aware of the consequences, but I have so little faith in them winning the WS this year that it’s a risk I’m completely willing to take. If they somehow are able to come back and win a world series, I will happily name my first born Danys.

  • Greg

Phan, did you actually read it? The post was complete sarcasm >_>

  • will.H

if her plate music was anything i’d be a very impressed parent at a tball game

  • Tyler

So how funny is this gonna be when they turn on Jesus Mode and rape and win the Division?

Fuck I remember going into August 2008 we were all like “TRADE J-ROLL HE CALLED US FRONTRUNNERS TRADE HIM AND HOWARD TO OAKLAND” for some reason haha.

  • Lynniemac

will: I might or might not be leaning toward “Twat Thon”.

Stuck Phan: In that case, I’d simply forego the “MacLynnie” and use “NicLynnie” instead. :-)

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

Tyler, I don’t remember the “trade Howard” discussion until after 08 when we thought they’d never be able to sign him. The J-Roll trade rumors were great because we had our can’t miss prospect Jason Donald waiting in the wings, so he was expendable.

  • bigmyc

Well, ScottGraham, Jason Donald hit the ball that the umpire called safe at first thus breaking up that kid’s no hitter when he actually deserved one….so yeah, he’s got that goin’ for him.

  • Jordan

would you people pick up a damn phone and call each other. i don’t want to read your stupid fucking conversations when i go on the fightins. i come on this site for one reason and thats to talk phillies baseball, not about whatever the fuck you are going to name your dumbass inbred kids.

  • bigmyc

Jordan, I am a big fan, sir.

  • The Mike Vick Xperience

Hells yeah Ima down for Dolla Dawg Night. Holla at ya shortie.

  • Lynniemac

I don’t come here to read someone hoping a ballplayer and father of two is killed in a car accident, so I guess we’re even, huh, Jordan? And I really don’t think that qualifies as “talking about baseball”, anyway.

  • http://Twitter.com/kraeer Kraeer

I want to see Billy Crystal’s reaction to cholly’s gum skills!

  • will.H

    jordan, you’re trying too hard

lynnie, twat thon works for me. although i thought a twat thon was the DNC picking up phones to take donations for the next election.

  • Jordan

me hoping jayson werth gets hit by a car definitly qualifies as phillies baseball 1. jayson werth plays for the phillies 2. the car is being driven by the philly phanatic. but its not actually a car, its that four-wheeler he drives around during games.

i’d also be happy if the phanatic shot him with the hot dog launching gun.

  • don

Now that would be kind of funny.

  • Phils Phan

Just read that the guy who played Manager Lou Brown in Major League died. Tough coupl’a weeks for Cleveland.

  • http://www.twitter.com/swift5648 Swift

@Jordan… please, just go away. It’s getting really lame, really fast.

  • Comedy

    Hi, Jordan. I’m Comedy. I don’t believe we’ve met.

  • Men’s Penises

Hi Jordan. I’m other mens’ penises. I believe you know me very well.

  • the Jordan Experience

I suppose so…but then again, I’ve always thought your mother looked like a pork pipe.

  • Jordan

are you guys done jerking off to each others comments yet?

    swift,

you know whats really lame? twitter. did you really link your twitter page through your name? no one gives a shit what you tweet or twat or whatever the fuck you call it. oh and having a nickname like swift for all of your internet buddies is pretty fucking lame too. i bet you have your girlfriend call you swift when you’re talking dirty in bed. oh wait….you probably don’t have a girlfriend. send out a tweet, maybe one of your dumbass followers will get you laid.

  • http://twitter.com/j_tee_r Jdashdog

Everybody who is anybody is on twitter.

Anyway, he’s the new lineup once Werth gets traded:
j-roll, poly, chase, howard, shane, brown, chooch, raul, pitcher

    Boom.

  • Phils Phan

Lots of love here this afternoon.

  • kurt

I actually think Raul would be the best guy for the 8 hole.

  • http://paviliondeck.com TonyIsDynamic

Jordan, *I* don’t link my Twitter! I link my NEW BLOG THAT’S UPDATED DAILY!

    http://paviliondeck.com

    *cheesy smile*

  • Greenman!

woah woah woah sorry Jordan, guys give me your number so we can meet for pizza instead of talking on here.

  • Jdash’s Twitter Ego

Who’s up for coffee enemas and a slip and slide? Who’s with me?

  • Uncle Charlie’s hands

Tony, you might have inspired me to create a blog again.

  • Greenman!

Chris bring the open game thread back, I’m bored. I think yesterday’s loss kind of proved we suck either way,

  • http://paviliondeck.com TonyIsDynamic

Hahaha, that’s awesome. I mainly got one so I could use it as a platform for my opinions for areas where a comment box wasn’t enough for me to express. Stuff like this: http://www.paviliondeck.com/2010/07/jayson-werth-looking-for-a-side-job/ *cheesy grin*

SHHH DON’T TELL ANYONE THAT I’M SECRET JUST AUDITIONING FOR A JOB AS A FIGHTINS CONTRIBUTER

  • Bozo

J-Roll has certainly played his caliber of defense and I’m confident his bat will come around.

So would batting Ruiz 2nd, 3rd, 5th, or 6th be a plausible idea?

  • will.H

bozo, i always thought of that, but his OBP might be a product partially of batting in the 8 hole

  • Jupiter’s Rings

hey remember when shane had that chin hair half goatee with the halfstache on top? i’m pretty sure that’s when we used to win. this evil goatee has got to go.

  • Greenman!

isn’t Jon Jay the guy from the american revolution?

  • TonyIsDynamic

    Jayson Werthless: Rally killer

  • will.H

did he just call Jayson Werth a Free Asian

  • Watrick

    100!

  • Greenman!

OMG! YAY I CANT WAIT FOR KK TO BLOW IT!

  • Watrick

Damn Comcast and their faulty on screen menu… I didn’t realize the game started already…

  • Philly Phever

Wait…what the hell…a hit and run…3 runs on the board….the phillies arent allowed to do this!!

  • TheOtherJim

What team are the Cardinals playing tonight?

  • Philly Phever

@theotherjim…i dont know but they can stick around for the rest of the season for all i care

  • MoyerIsMyHero

I love when this team plays in St. Louis

  • http://paviliondeck.com TonyIsDynamic

Doc Halladay must be PISSED. He just saw his team score his entire last game’s run support in ONE inning. For Roy Halladay Jr.

  • Lenny Dykstra Financial Whiz Kid

well there goes the no hitter

  • Philly Phever

KK doesnt want to hit in the top of the 2nd so hes just working his way out of the game now

  • MoyerIsMyHero

I’m not expecting a great start from KK, so we’ll to keep the offense going.

  • Greenman!

“Roy Halladay Jr.” can we make that his name?

  • Dubee Dubee Du

Re: #25: Chris – your posting of a game day thread was never an issue. Please post to your heart’s content.

However don’t even think of photoshopping any pitcher’s pix. The jinx is still in effect.

The Phillies record when you don’t post a game day thread has no bearing on the jinx.

The jinx is only relevent with regards to the win – loss record of photoshopped pix.

There may be a way to appease the jinx but it requires a live chicken, and a few other assorted essentials I am uncertain of.

Re: #27: Will H. – Don’t tread where you know not of what you speak. There are forces at work here greater than mere man can fathom. The jinx has made itself known, to ignore it is foolhardy. To ridicule it, is to do so at one’s own peril.

  • will.H

we need to learn what the cardinals are doing right now. fucking garbage runs

  • Milt Thompson

    Solo shot imminent.

  • Kruk vs. Johnson

OMG you guys! You can score a run simply by making contact when you have a man on third and less than three outs!!! We should totes do that!

    /Phils fan since 2010

  • http://paviliondeck.com TonyIsDynamic

    Jayson. Werthles.

  • kurt

    Werthless.

  • will.H

dude needs to stop smokin weed for at least 3 weeks

  • MoyerIsMyHero

Goddamn Jayson Werth. Did I menioned I’ve never liked him?

  • http://thequietphan.blogspot.com Mrs.Happ

It’s as if Jayson doesn’t want to be on base. He accidentally gets on and then gets picked off to make up for it.

  • Ryan

If I didn’t know who was on first, and I heard they got picked off by a snap throw, my first 3 guesses would be Werthless.

  • Greenman!

    L.A. hates Fred Bird

  • http://paviliondeck.com TonyIsDynamic

How did Werth go from “THAT BADASS BEARD GUY FEAR THE BEARD” to “Fuck this guy he can’t play at all*”?

    *completely true

  • Poopsicle

Did I somehow turn on the gay version broadcast? Wheels and TMac keeps talking about poo-holes. Don’t get me wrong, I like it, just a little confused.

  • Greenman!

I don’t hate Werth Tony, sure he’s been God awful but he will come out of it at some point this season whether on our team or not. I guarantee if he plays against us he will be batting .500

  • Milt Thompson

Jayson’s gonna be pissed that K2 is showing him up like that. WTF is this taking pitches crap.

  • MoyerIsMyHero

That run garbage enough for you?

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

I just wanna go on record and say that Chooch is the best Phillie. If you disagree you are wrong.

  • Dubee Dubee Du

@ poopsicle- the logo channel does do a dual feed with comcast on occasion. The use of slect phrase and code is a telltale sign that it is a particular game. Pooholes is for sure a dead give away. Rolliins working on getting his stroke back may also be a hint. Stay lubed my friend.

  • will.H

nah id call that a fortunate run only because it was a hit. a groundout RBI is a garbage run. although dont mistake garbage for bad.. i’ll take 9 garabe runs a night

  • will.H

a lot of empty seats for the self proclaimed baseball “capitol” (al)

  • Watrick

Is it my radio, or does it sound like there’s a wind storm in the baseball capitol of the world?

  • Watrick

    Ha!

  • Greenman!

Chooch is the best Phillie by far

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

LA’s shooting hard on all the trade rumors, it’s great.

  • mr_cee

hey!! Jayson didn’t fuck up………..he may still have some trade value left

  • TMac’s forehead

    Kendooo Boppooo!

  • Cole Handsome

In the bottom of the fifth, the Cardinals will have two leadoff hitters, which will allow more players on base for Albert Pujols!

  • will.H

watrick, were our posts a coincidence?

  • Stinky McHashcakes

    Dear Uncle Cholly,

    Is it hitting season yet?

If it isn’t, can we make it such, please?

  • Watrick

I think they were meant to be…

  • Greenman!

what the hell? did we finally decide to start hitting tonight?

  • will.H

haha remember that wang bag blogger form st louis and meech was like oh no you diiiiint

  • MoyerIsMyHero

What trade rumors is LA talking about? And what’s he saying?

  • mr_cee

It has to be all that tightening of the batting gloves that enabled Raul to hit that line drive

  • MoyerIsMyHero

Did anyone tell Ryan they were in St. Louis? He should have 8 HRs by now.

  • the Mike Vick Xperience

For reazy, dawgs (no disrespect meant). I think I could fit right into this here town, St. Louie. Where da bitches hang at?

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

MoyerIsMyHero, he’s basically saying unless you can get another Halladay, why trade for a 5th starter, since nobody out there is better than Kendrick. Basically, “if they can’t hit, we don’t need them”

Also, Raul looks good in that 3 hole.

  • Glenn Quagmire

You know, it’s funny…I always thought that I looked good in 3 holes…

    Giggity.

  • Eric

Someone let Shane know he does not have to swing at every low and away changeup. It’s not a fastball every time Shane.

  • Fat Joe Blanton

Nothing goes better with Phillies baseball then a TasteyKake!

  • Milt Thompson

Thanks Eric, I’ll let him know. But what if it IS a fastball every time? What then?

  • MoyerIsMyHero

Unless this 3 hole (teehee) thing works for Raul, I’m starting to get behind the “put Ibanez on the bench and call up Brown” plan.

  • Eric

willH – how dare those fans not pay money to go see Hawksworth v. Kendrick. Seriously, these kinda matchups make me want to cancel my cable package. Awful.

Blake Hawksworth is still a top 10 baseball name.

  • Eric

moyerismyhero – Here is what people don’t understand about the Brown scenario – what if he comes up for 2 weeks and goes 5 for 50. Then what? Send him back down? Phylan will remind us about sample sizes. Then it fucks him up. Do you bench him? Demote him? It’s not like calling him up automatically gets you a .325 average with 20 dingers the rest of the way.

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

Eric, it’s the 2 time defending NL Champs against the highly touted championship contender Cardinals. That place should be PACKED and it should be a playoff atmosphere regardless of pitchers. Plenty of ballparks sell out for two mooks pitching.

  • http://twitter.com/j_tee_r Jdashdog

Eric – that’s probably why he won’t get called up until September, when the Phils are already out of contention.

  • will.H

who remembers that 3 run lead

  • epiphany1

    WTF?

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

Greatest player in our great sport

  • Eric

JDash – if you’re saying we should call him up to avoid falling out of contention, then our problems go well beyond needing Dom Brown.

  • Milt Thompson

WTF this place is a little league park. What a joke.

  • will.H

eric, self proclaimed best fans in baseball. the hamburgler coudl be pitching, its the NL champs vs. the first place Cards. I wouldnt care if they didnt claim they’re the best fans in the world.

  • MoyerIsMyHero

Eric, I completely understand the risks of calling up Brown. But if Ibanez isn’t producing, is it better to let him not produce or take the risk of Brown not producing?

Eventually you are going to want Brown to play in the majors. Whenever that is, he could go 5 for 50. What’s the difference between doing it now and doing it next season?

  • MoyerIsMyHero

Also, yes, Blake Hawksworth is an awesome name.

  • FUckthisNoise

    fucking garbage team.

  • Mark

    The fuck?

  • kurt

    KENDRICK STOP BEING LIKE HALLADAY

  • Mich

    Holy. Fuckaroni.

  • MoyerIsMyHero

    Egads

  • mr_cee

how come everybody gets their first ever major league homerun against the Phillies……..huh?

  • It’s over

No pitching. Kendrick sucks cock tonight

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

Anyone watching on MLB.TV? Have the Cardinals announcers gone out their way to trash Philadelphia fans yet? Like saying “Allen Craig’s hitting .148, but the fans are supporting him! He’d be getting booed in Philadelphia” or “These fans are driving Jayson Werth out of town, he’d get nothing but support here!”

  • Eric

    BONK

  • MoyerIsMyHero

Well, at least it is becoming funny now…

  • It’s over

Hey Charlie–come get him, you are 3 batters too late

  • FUckthisNoise

I’d rather be watching the pirates

  • Adamr14

    Fuck you KK

  • will.H

skip schumaker is my size. there’s still hope.

  • mr_cee

    are you physically kidding me?

  • Mich

Ok, I’m not a violent person but I wouldn’t be fazed in the least if Cholly just walked up to the mound and decked Kendrick.

  • Linds

Anyone know why the Phils pitched to Pujols with an open base when he already hit a hard one off of KK?

  • http://twitter.com/4who4what ScottGraham

Is KK’s version of “So Cuttered” when someone hits a cutter over the middle of the plate out of the park?

  • Wayne

    DFA someone, bring up Carcillo

  • Brian

Cardinal telecast here…said that Utley leaving will pretty much ruin the chances of playoffs…no joker, the problems started long before Utley left…

  • John Matrix

Wondering how many ways we can lose? Well show you.

  • will.H

middle in sinkers won’t cut. thats on kyle, he knows better

  • mr_cee

I blame T-Mac for talking all that 5th inning bullshit at the top of the inning…….he’s bad mojo

  • It’s all over folks

    the sag towards .500 continues….

  • PhilsSuckMooseBalls

    LMAO!!!

All 3 hr pitches almost in the same spot. Didn’t he realize that was the wrong spot after Albert hit the first hr.

  • Mich

    LOL, yeah T-Mac’s new name = B-MOJ

  • Eric

    188 – that’s why you’re a fucking idiot. I blame Kendrick.

  • http://twitter.com/j_tee_r Jdashdog

No Eric, I meant he’ll be called up after they’re already out of contention – just so he can get some major league ABs before next season. If anyone realistically thinks Domino Brown is going to change the fortune of this team they’re sadly mistaken. The problems go well beyond needing a bat, but they are subtle problems. It’s the little things that this team ISN’T doing this year that they have done the last 2 or 3 years: baserunning blunders, too much patience at the plate, not enough patience at the plate other times. Obviously, injuries have played a factor as well, but that’s part of the game.

  • Jdash’s Enema fueled slip-n-slide

Scott G, STFU about this enemy player reverence. I hate ‘em all when they play the Phillies.

  • mr_cee

I got your fucking idiot hangin……..why don’t you come and school it jit bag

  • Mike P

I trust Cholly in almost all situations… But this is why you don’t have a starting pitcher throw relief innings, no matter how quickly the starter gets knocked out. Kendrick was screwed up a bit to start the game, settled down, and then very quickly ran out of gas. You had better believe that this has a lot to do with those relief innings tossed in Chicago. Ugh.

  • PhilsSuckMooseBalls

    Great game……losers! Lmao

  • Mich

OK, sounds like T-Mac and Sarge dipped into the Amaro kool-aid. “The Phillies are only 3 down and oughta be able to handle a rookie pitcher”. Have they NOT been watching some of these games lately?

  • mr_cee

T-Mac is too busy sucking Ruben’s knot to know what’s going on

  • MoyerIsMyHero

Jdash, the point is not that Dom Brown would single-handedly turn the team around. But if he hits better than whoever he replaces, he improves the team. Improving the team is useless if it doesn’t fix every problem??

  • Mich

Ahhhh…Kyle Kendrick’s night is complete. THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!

  • PhilsSuckMooseBalls

LOL guys look at my backne

  • Jdash’s Enema fueled slip-n-slide

@Eric, I thought baseball fans want more offense. Isn’t that why there’s smaller parks and juiced up players and balls? Those stands should be filled.

It’s a monday night. This is like when you guys try to tell me that anybody who leaves a game early isn’t a real fan! Like OMG how dare they! So the fans didn’t go out tonight.. I think everything will be ok. Maybe more so than a piss poor matchup, the Phillies fucking suck. I have tickets to the Colo. BPS. I am just happy that it’s a day game and it won’t ruin my night.

  • Mich

Ok, is this some type of reverse promotional giveaway where the Phillies give all the opposing batters a homerun? Whatever it is, it’s making my head hurt real bad.

Aaaaack! You’re choking the life outta me!

Thanks for the homerun derby. I missed it last weekend!!!

I don’t even know why i’m wasting even a fucking second to even half-follow this piece of shit game.

This team doesn’t even deserve to be above .500 and certainly doesn’t deserve to be in 3rd place.

They belong in the basement, and not to even be given a glimpse of sunlight.

Just leave em locked down there for a while, until they beg and plead to come out of it for air!

  • John Matrix

Yes we all fucking know they hit homers.

  • http://biasedopinions-uch.blogspot.com/ Uncle Charlie’s hands

    REBUILDING PROCESS HERE WE GO!!!!!

  • Eric

Dubee – absolutely. I ask that the baseball team entertain me for like 90 minutes a night and they fail horribly. I don’t care if they lose a good ball game, but this is unwatchable from start to finish.

  • PhillyPhanInChi

Victorino has one serious issue and I’m surprised that no one in the media has said anything about it yet. No, I’m not talking about his horrid shirts. I’m talking about him deciding that he’s a 4 hole hitter and swinging for the damned fences all the time. I mean, come on, Shane. We all see how many HR’s you have, but you’re not getting paid to hit COT-DAMN home runs little man! You’re paid to hit line drives and bloops. Hell, take a pitch. Just because Cholly puts you in the lead off spot doesn’t mean you have to go all Jimmy Rollins on us (sidebar-I think Jimmy has come a long way from that crap even though he swings at the first pitch like his name is Randall Simon.(Sub-Side Bar-Anyone remember how Nunez used to ALWAYS take the first pitch…..?)

  • Dubee Dubee Du

TMac is never going to rip a player. That’s part of his problem he comes across as too even keeled and that’s the way the Phils organization wants it. If they get too negative in their opinions about the players the next step is to knock the front office. They couldn’t do anything about Whitey and Harry because they were here before this ownership group and beloved by the fanbase.

  • John Matrix

I’ve never seen a team ground out so much.

  • will.H

john matrix, classic overswings with these guys.

  • BigMiles

We are a bad team right now but these message boards are ugly…where have my fun-loving Fightins commenters gone? We will come out of this…if its too late for this year then so be it but any comment about rebuilding is pretty hilarious. Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, Cole Hamels, and Roy Halladay would probably disagree. I bet Dom Brown would too.

  • Chase Utley’s thumb

L.A is fucking awesome, because he is never afraid to say what he thinks and he often tends to say the same things that the fans are thinking of anyway.

He’s a homer, but an honest one who calls things as he sees them.

  • will.H

bigmiles take 45 mins and read all 244 comments, we’re still here.

  • J

Don’t worry guys, we have Jamie Moyer and Joe Blanton pitching the next 2 games. If those aren’t some guaranteed Phillies wins, I don’t know what is.

  • Chase Utley’s thumb

And Halladay probably already regrets coming here, Cole can’t wait for his contract to be up, Chase probably thinks some West Coast team like the Padres or Giants looks good right now, and Ryan Howard probably would like to DH for the Red Sox or Yankees.

  • http://paviliondeck.com TonyIsDynamic

Relax Eric, it’s only late July!

  • Chase Utley’s thumb

And Joe FAT FUCK is pretty much a penciled in loss already… and Moyer has to face Carpenter!

I predicted the Cards sweeping us, and i’m sticking to it.

Even Cole won’t be able to save us

  • Dubee Dubee Du

Victorino has been a thorn in Charlie’s side since he became manager. He has always had stretches of poweritis and it used to be in the beginning Charlie could bench him and get through to him, but it seems that the success of the past 3 years is so brain numbing that Victorino is just doing whatever the fuck he feels like.

  • will.H

13 hits and 4 runs confuses your fanbase

  • Chase Utley’s thumb

Anyone else think that maybe it’s time to disband the current team and just load up on good prospects and stuff?

  • PhillyPhanInChi

    9th inning. We’re good for 2 or 3 solo shots here…..

I can’t believe that game had 12 runs and was still over in under 2 hours.

  • http://biasedopinions-uch.blogspot.com/ Uncle Charlie’s hands

So I ate a fortune cookie, and i found a neat little advice
“If you can’t accept losing, you can’t win”

Bullshit, I did that and shit still happens

  • http://paviliondeck.com TonyIsDynamic

    13 hits. 4 runs.

    Something’s not adding up here.

  • Dubee Dubee Du

Chase, Ruiz, Polanco and even Rollins are all busting it when out there. Sure they’ve all suffered a slump this year but much of the problems they’ve had can be attributed to injuries. Howard has been pretty steady all year and has been the most productive Phillie offensively. Ibanez, Victorino and Werth have been so inconsistent it’s maddening, and all I have to do is watch them. I can only imagine how Charlie feels.

L.A. is great to listen to and as an explayer and coach he can say a lot and can back it up without losing clubhouse cred. Let a talking head try that and he won’t get anywhere with the players.

  • Dubee Dubee Du

Chase Utley’s thumb or PhilsSuckMooseballs? Can’t decide which one’s trying to be a bigger douche.

Whoever mentioned earlier the Kendrick relief outing nailed it, if that’s what happened. I missed some of the Chicago series fortunately and had some computor down time yesterday.

  • Mike P

The people waving white flags on this board drive me crazy. The Phils aren’t out of this season by a long shot. Of course they’re playing like shit, but it is JULY. The Phils aren’t 18 games out of first. They’re 5.5 games out of first. They’ve been in holes this deep in September and still made the playoffs. Even in 2008, when they won the WS, they were 3.5 games out of first in mid-September.

I don’t know if you quitters were always frontrunners, or if winning has just made you soft. It doesn’t much matter. Either way, you seem to have forgotten that winning in a competitive division like the East, and winning the NL pennant, isn’t exactly an easy task. There will be good times, and there will be bad times, especially with this baseball team. And after all, the last team to win three NL pennants in a row came 60 years ago! Did you think this would be easy? That it was a birthright? A given? Because it’s not! It’s a roller coaster, and instead of holding on, you’re just jumping off!

Anyway, all of this talk of surrendering has just about driven me nuts. The baseball season is long, and lots of things can change very quickly in the last 2 1/2 months of the season. Moreover, it wouldn’t be stunning if they didn’t win the division or the pennant. If that’s the Phils fate, you just have to hope that they’ll take that one step back just to take two steps forward. Until they’re definitely out of the face, however, try to keep the faith instead of abandoning the team, especially with almost half of the season to go.

I realize that this season reminds lots of people of 1979. I just wonder if this many Philly fans in 1979 had such little faith.

  • Eric

tonyisdynamic – ok you win. You called this season a bust in May when I was trying to hold onto hope. However you were right and this team doesn’t look great. You win, man. Are you really happy that you predicted a slump season? Seriously, way to go.

  • PhillyPhanInChi

I’ve got to side with Mike P on this one. Kind of. I said it the other day-I’ve emotionally detached myself from what happens from here on out. I’m still rooting for them and I still think they could pull some serious rabbit out before it’s all said and done, but for me to try and say that I’m not upset from what has happened this season is like sitting on my nuts. Kind off.

  • PhillyPhanInChi

*of. I rolled a nut that time so I think i double tapped the F.

  • Mike P

    @ Dubee

I think that was all me. I didn’t understand why they’d bring Kendrick into that Moyer-meltdown game at the time, either. The game was already a disaster. Don’t waste a starter pitching in relief. It screws up their rhythm, and it showed tonight in Kendrick’s performance. This is why they had Figgy.

For the record, I think that DFAing Figgy was the worst decision that Amaro has made all year. He’s the one true multi-inning long man they had, and that’s a handy thing when you have a pitcher like Moyer, who is going to have a 3 IP clunker every now and then.

Anyway, stop waving the white flag, thefightins.com nation! Don’t be a bunch of Mets fans, giving up on a team when things aren’t going so well in July! Show some guts!

  • greenman!

As a self proclaimed member of team Eric, I have to point out that Tony is always negative and we’be been in worse spots. We aren’t on life support yet but its close.

PS Mooseballs why don’t you tell us which blog you frequent you pushy, I would say nomaas but you seem to retarded for their community.

  • Mike P

    @PhillyPhaninChi

I think that’s a totally fair approach. There’s nothing wrong with booing them. There’s nothing wrong with saying that they’re driving you nuts. But declaring that you’ve given up on the team in July, when they’re only 5.5 games out of the division lead, is a pure and unquestionable sign of a gutless frontrunner.

  • http://paviliondeck.com TonyIsDynamic

I’m not always negative! I’d be less negative if this team didn’t play like dogshit.

You can bring up “the 08 numbers” or the “07 numbers” all you want, but the fact this this team is what you call an “overachieving .500 team”. They’re a team that’s barely over .500 that’s performing MUCH better than they should be.

They show no heart, and have a defeated look just about every night they trot on the field.

This team LIVES under Murphy’s law.

    - If the pitcher’s are pitching winnable games, the offense is dead to rights.
    - If the batters are putting the pitchers in what WOULD be winnable games, the pitching falls apart.
    - When the stars align and the hitters HIT and the pitchers PITCH, the *BULLPEN* falls the fuck apart.

It looks bad. Negativity or optimism, pick your poison. Makes no difference, this team is bad.

  • bigmyc

Hey, hey. Shane is drawing the ire of the phans but remember; this is the guy who dove into the third row for a foul ball in the Astrodome….so um, we knew what we were getting. Also, he happens to be the Phillies best hitter for the last two years including a demolishing 13 RBI in the ’08 post season for a Phillies’ record.

That being said, It’s perfectly alright to boo this team…on nights like tonight..which seem to be common anymore.

  • Mike P

    @ Tony

This team was an overachieving .500 team those years, too. How about all of the stupid last-second wins against the Mets? Oh, in 2007, that was “guts,” but in 2010, those extra innings wins against the then first-place Reds are fluky bull shit.

It’s all perspective. Glass half full? They were gutsy wins. Glass half empty? They were pure luck and the team is actually garbage.

  • PhillyPhanInChi

    @ TID

I have to disagree on one thing with that post. Previous years aside, they are definitely not an “overachieving .500″ team. If anything we’re underachieving by a long shot. We don’t have anyone out on the field who is “Overachieving” at this point. The list of Unders, however, is long. Victorino, Werth, Blanton and Ibanez are all underachieving big time. (I’m not including Baez, Herndon, Contreras, Madson or Lidge, because there were no expectations for them or they’re doing just what most of us thought they would.)

Unfortunately I think that negative attitude that you speak of is a by-product of Shane and Werth. I’m not including Ibanez in this one because as much as he sucks ass right now, he’s very professional. Shane and Werth aren’t carry over’s from the Rollins-Utley-Hamels-Howard group. They really aren’t used to this level of bad baseball with the Phil’s.

With that being said, I think that If we can get Utley back to play enforcer again, and we get rid of a sourpuss we’ll be okay.

All in all, I think this is good for this team in the long run and I plan on being a fan long after this season is over.

“Man looks in the abyss, there’s nothing staring back at him. At that moment, man finds his character. And that is what keeps him out of the abyss. “
